Zumba® is for EVERYONE...the choreography is simple and easy to follow. In each song there are usually only four steps that repeat throughout the song.Classes are led at an intermediate level and the steps can be modified for beginners or for more advanced movement. I haven't been working out regularly - can I take Zumba® classes? YES! Classes are taught at an intermediate level, and the moves can be modified for lower or higher intensity. Participants are encouraged to work out at a level that is comfortable for them and appropriate to their individual fitness levels. Can I really get a good workout in Zumba® classes? YES! Because the program is so flexible, both the beginner and the long-time exerciser alike can find great satisfaction - and a great sweat! - participating in Zumba® classes. Typical participants burn between 500-800 calories per hour. The workout targets the glutes, legs, arms, abdominals, and most importantly, the heart. What kind of clothing should I wear? Zumba® is a cardio workout based on interval training. Be prepared to sweat! Wear whatever keeps you comfortable during a similar aerobic workout - step class, running, etc. What type of shoe should I wear? What should I bring to class? Please be sure to bring water and towel. You will be getting your heart rate up and it is important to stay hydrated! |
