As I got older, this passion expanded: I became involved in weight lifting in high school and ran cross country; I competed in five triathlons in through out my college years; and I organized and ran in the Majuro Ultra Marathon (50K) in 2004. In 2007, I became certified in Spinning, and in December of 2010, I finally completed my personal training certification courses through the American Council on Exercise. These days, I'm continuing to increase my knowledge in a variety of areas related to fitness, including nutrition, martial arts, and the practice of yoga. I still train for 5K races (my favorite distance!) and I love to share this ever growing passion for health and fitness with everyone I meet! Fitness is a lifelong adventure, not a one day event. Each and every day we get to see what our bodies--and, more importantly--our minds are made of as we stretch the boundaries and go beyond our perceived limitations. It is this mind set that I strive to share and help everyone understand. The body is always stronger than you know! Thanks to a very active and health concious family, I have been involved in fitness for as long as I can remember: whether it was working out to Denise Austin tapes or running a mile with my mom, exercise--structured and unstructured-- was a big part of my youth.
